Timo Ahtinen (double bass), Hanna Juutilainen (flutist) and Jukka Rautasalo (cellist) will take the lead. <\/em><\/p>\n

The summer music festival will take over Porvoo again next year, in the familiar week after Midsummer 27.6.-1.7.2018. The thirty-third edition of Suvisoitto will not be limited to a single artistic designer, but will aim for a festival at least three times better with three designers.
\n– The number 33 is the highest master number in numerology. It is the most influential of all numbers and symbolizes the highest level of consciousness a human being can achieve. The trio also carves the number 33 in the Summer Witch Trio, which aims to search for truth and ancient wisdom. <\/p>\n

Double bassist Timo Ahtinen<\/strong>, flutist Hanna Juutilainen<\/strong> and cellist Jukka Rautasalo<\/strong> are long-time Avant-garde musicians who have been involved in both the orchestra and Suvisoito since its early days. They have also used their Avant-grown knowledge in other roles in the music world: Ahtinen as a member of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Juutilainen in the Tapiola Sinfonietta and Rautasalo as a cellist in the Radio Symphony Orchestra. The trio’s aim is to strengthen the Porvoo connection and to intensify cooperation with local players even more than in previous years. <\/p>\n

The 32nd edition ended on Sunday. Composer Lotta Wenn\u00e4koski<\/strong> was responsible for the design of the summer concert, creating a varied and diverse festival programme. In keeping with the Chantefables theme,<\/em> the festival featured a wealth of songs and stories. The programme included several Finnish premieres and the world’s first concert for foley artist and chamber orchestra, Sami Klemola’s<\/strong> Jack and the Specifics<\/em>. The free concerts attracted a large audience, and this time the festival was also accessible from the comfort of one’s own home, as one of the main concerts was streamed via the Avant website. In total, the festival attracted over 3000 visitors. The festival was organised with the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the City of Porvoo, the Finnish Cultural Foundation, Aktias\u00e4\u00e4ti\u00f6 Porvoo <\/em>and the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation<\/em>. <\/p>\n
