The final concert of Musica nova Helsinki is the performance of chamber orchestra Avanti! conducted by Michael Wendeberg. The concert features Rebecca Saunders’ cult classic, the sensual vocal concerto Skin, considered one of the most significant works of 21st century European contemporary music. Skin was written for soprano Juliet Fraser, who will also be the soloist for Avanti! in this concert. The concert programme also includes Alexander Schubert’s Point Ones, Clara Iannotta’s We left her in a sack for fairies to reclaim and Kirmo Lintinen’s Ballata concertante.
