Päätöskonsertti: Portrait – Ritratto

The closing concert presents Wubbels’ Auditory Scene Analysis II alongside Ruth Crawford Seeger’s work as a contrasting counterpart. Representing the generation of American composers that followed Charles Ives, Crawford was only 25 years old when she completed Music for Small Orchestra in the spring of 1926.

The festival’s recurring series of Schubert-inspired works, schubert retouché, reaches its conclusion as eight male singers and Avanti! perform one of the composer’s most distinctive and remarkable creations.

Suvisoitto concludes with a work from Avanti!’s founding year, 1983: the extraordinary Ritratto by Magnus Lindberg, who was also just 25 years old at the time.

The concert will be conducted by Janne Nisonen, whose recordings of Ferdinand Ries’s symphonies with Tapiola Sinfonietta have received international acclaim.

The designer/programmer of the 2027 Suvisoitto Festival will be announced in connection with the closing concert.
